25.08.2009: “Application of 3D laser scanner for monitoring of landslide hazards” by SUI, L. et al, 2008. In this paper, there is an example of landslide in Jingyang, Shannxi province. The data are collected by Optech ILRIS-3D laser scanner.
Proceedings: Landslide Processes
25.08.2009: From Geomorphologic Mapping to Dynamic Modelling. The proceedings of the conference present excellent back ground information to landslide processes and the risks they constitute. The international conference was held from 6-7 Feb. 2009, Strasbourg, France and organised by CERG, Utrecht University and University of Strasbourg.
Video: Malaysia Landslide
25.08.2009: Malaysia Landslide occurs at Seaside Malaysia on 1993, this video was taken on the spot at that time.
3D Landslide in Kashmir
25.08.2009: 3D Landslide in Kashmir in a 3D perspective provided by the NASA Planetary Photo Journal Collection. This 3D perspective view combines an image acquired by the Advanced Spaceborne Radiometer on NASA`s Terra spacecraft on October 11, 2005 with digital topography from the Shuttle Radar Topography Mission. It depicts a large landslide in an area about 5 kilometers (3 miles) wide approximately 50 km southeast of the epicenter of the magnitude 7.6 Pakistan earthquake on October 8, 2005.
Nachterstedt landslide
25.08.2009: A deadly landslide of appr. 2 Mio cubic meters happened in eastern Germany and has triggered a debate geotechnical processes during the flooding of open pit lignite mines and whether precautionary measures in renaturalized mining areas are sufficient. The mine apparently closed in 1991 whereupon it was converted into a recreation area. The lake was apparently created in 1994.
DLR presents high resolution air photos depicting the area of the landslide in detail.

Arizona Geology 3D
02.07.2009: This site consists of QuickTime Virtual Reality (QTVR) movies of the Geologic Map of Arizona draped over digital topography for each 1° X 1° quadrangle. Each movie consists of a 3D perspective of the quadrangle that the user can rotate using the mouse to view the area from any direction. This site allows you to see how the geology relates to topography, cities, and other culture. Copyright 2001, 2002 by Julia K. Johnson and Stephen J. Reynolds
Basin Analysis - Ainsa Basin, Spain
02.07.2009: The aim of the Ainsa Consortium project is to build 3D, restored reconstructions of three turbidite systems. All these systems have dimensions in the rank of seismic resolution. In the case of the Ainsa TS, the reconstruction will be 9 km long, 8 km wide and 400 m thick, aiming to show the spatial distribution of the different sedimentary bodies and the juxtaposed architecture of the successive cycles of channel-complex development and abandonment. Work in the Ainsa Basin is oriented to the generation of 3D structural and sedimentological models by incorporating the information compiled by GGAC over years of work in this area.
Visual MODFLOW 3D-Builder - Groundwater Modeling Software Product
02.07.2009: Visual MODFLOW 3D-Builder provides you with advanced capabilities for building conceptual models completely independent of the numerical grid and within a unified modeling environment in. The 3D geology software is the new generation in dynamic conceptual model building. Featuring a powerful multi-format object/data import tool and tested to work within the latest version of the Visual MODFLOW modeling environment. The software enables you to build impressive representations of your groundwater system within a single modeling environment.
3d geology software
02.07.2009: 3d-geology.de expends in July 2009 the announced functionalities and presents an overview of well known software products and preprocessor tools in 3d geology and specific modeling applications.
Providers are kindly invited to inform about applicable tools and 3d software at the information platform 3d-geology.de.
